About Allan Anderson
Before becoming a teacher, I worked in software development. This career change brought the opportunity to combine two of my greatest passions: the English language and technology.

Teaching Philosophy
My training as an educator is largely constructivist, where students connect their own schemas of understanding to their lessons, learning through experience and creation rather more than direct instruction. I believe that the instructor's role lies in setting original parameters, nudging free "stuck" learners, and generally faciliating class discussion and progress. Much of my own education in technology and understanding of writing and literature has been self-taught through tackling projects in areas that interest me. By providing a mentor's guidance and encoragement, I hope to pass along these sorts of project-based and hands-on learning experiences.
